Activities
St.
Joe's Women's Centre offers its clients many activities
of which they can be a part, including, but not limited
to:
- Monday to Friday (9:30
a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
A Family Resource Worker is available to assist
with the mothers and children needs and programs.
Boys up to age of the 16th birthday are permitted to
attend programs with their mother or legal guardian.

Monday 1:00 p.m.:
Movie

Thursday afternoons:
A representative from "Growing Up Downtown" visits
the Centre and conducts a variety of activities, including:
making crafts with children, conducting workshops
on parenting issues and related topics.

Friday 1:00 p.m
: Bingo
Centre meeting: Held once
a month, this is an opportunity for the Centre staff
and clients to discuss a variety of Centre issues in
an open forum setting. Suggestions, complaints, and
ideas for new programs are among the topics discussed.
Occasional Activities
The staff
arranges for guest speakers, and these are booked on an
occasional basis. Some past topics have included:
- Budgeting;
- Eat well, spend less;
- Balanced eating and
healthy food preparation;
- Setting boundraries;
- Self-esteem;
- Parenting issues; and
- Job search skills
