Quality of Life Award
Presently, the Women's Centre's major fundraising event is the "Quality of Life"
Award. This award is presented to a couple, and/or individual within our city
honoring their many contributions within our community.
In 2000, Bunny (chair of the Women's Center advisory committee) & Bill Collins (President of OCRI- Ottawa Center for Research &
Innovation) were the recipients of the year "2000
Quality of Life Award".
The recipient for "2001
Quality of Life Award"
was Jacqueline Holzman (former Mayor of
Ottawa).
The recipients for "2002 Quality of Live Awards" were
Sister Betty Ann Kinsella (founder of Youville Centre) and
Claude Turgeon (Director of Boys & Girls Club of
Ottawa).
The candidates for the "2003
Quality of Life Award" were Judith Yaworsky
and Jim Watson.
The recipients for the year "2004
Quality of Life Award"
were
Sue O'Sullivan and Jeff Hunt.
In 2005, the recipients for the "2005
Quality of Life Award"
were Debbie O'Brien, Sr. Véronique
Belcourt and Michelle Valberg.
On November 2, 2006 St. Joe's Women's Centre held the "2006
Quality of Life Award"
to honour Barbara O'Connor, Basil and Kathy Wren.
In 2007, the recipients for the "2007
Quality of Life Award" were Joy &
Dick Hudson as well as Sharon McGarry.
The recipients for the year "2008
Quality of Life Award"
were Grete Hale, John Jarvis and Garry Byrne.
