What We Expect of Student
Co-ops or Student Placements



A student placement who is successful in her performance will be considered one who:

  1. Completes, to the best of her ability, any task which she assumes responsibility for;

  2. Promotes, rather then undermines, team work;

  3. Acknowledges, promotes and follows, to the best o her ability, all the policies, procedures and missions of this agency;

  4. Considers her commitment and dedication to this agency as important and, therefore, is reliable and will notify the agency of shift changes, lateness, absenteeism, etc.;

  5. Will notify the Manager of Volunteers (or her representative) of any questions concerns, issues, ideas, etc., which arise and which she considers important to her role or to the operation of the Centre;

  6. Is an appropriate and positive representative of the Women's Centre, promoting its essence in the community rather than undermining its rapport and value;

  7. Is willing to direct her own involvement in the Centre by choosing which tasks she will assume responsibility for each shift; and

  8. Is willing to discuss concerns with the Manager of Volunteers regarding any issue/situation related to the Centre, it's staff, team or client population.
