Volunteer Tasks

As a volunteer at St. Joe's Women's Centre, here are some of the tasks that you may be assigned:

• Kitchen Help e.g.: preparing,serving, recruiting volunteers, clearing tables, garbage collection, dishes, floor sweeping;

• Grocery Program: sorting and stacking weekly deliveries, pre-packaging emergency food bags;

• Buddy System: one-on-one with the women;

• Administrative: Working on the computer, photocopying, various office duties;

• Craft Program: organization, teaching, supervising;

• Intervention: assisting the women in such areas as: obtaining telephone numbers for community resources, providing essential items (e.g.: toiletries, groceries);

• Escort Driver: arranging drives for the women for doctor's appointments, school visits, etc.;

• Centre Cleaning: assisting with maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Centre; and

• Program Coordination: organizing special events and on-going programs (e.g.: Halloween, Valentines, etc.).
